La Croft, OH's Colony-Elimination Ant Specialists

Spraying the visible trail kills foragers but leaves the colony and queen untouched, and often causes the colony to split and relocate, making the problem worse.

Carpenter ants are larger than most household ants, often black or black-and-red, and you may notice small piles of wood shavings (frass) near baseboards or window sills.

Bait is designed to transfer through the colony over 1-2 weeks, so expect a gradual decline in trail activity rather than an instant stop.

Yes — fire ant mounds often need direct mound treatment in addition to broadcast baiting, since mounds can be scattered across a large area.

Colony elimination clears the current infestation; a seasonal perimeter program helps prevent new colonies from establishing afterward.

Bait stations are designed for targeted placement in areas away from pet access, and we can discuss specific placement concerns during scheduling. It also helps to keep mulch beds pulled back a few inches from the foundation, since that gap alone reduces ant bridge points significantly.
